Part of Dubai’s thriving downtown district, the Dubai Mall has more than 1,000 shops spanning the best known international brands as well as many local boutiques. Inside a nearly 200-year-old fort, is housed a carefully curated museum that takes the visitor through the history, culture, arts and artefacts of Dubai. The Al Fahidi Fort, or Dubai Fort, is situated at the south of the Dubai Creek, in the bustling Al Souk Al Kabir area. Built in 1787, the fort was initially the home of the monarch and a fort for defence. Later, it became an arsenal for artillery and weapons. The fort was renovated and opened in 1971 as a museum to showcase Dubai’s original heritage.

This 72,000 square metre garden – with more than 150 million flowers – opens its gates every year when the weather starts cooling down.
