Inside a nearly 200-year-old fort, is housed a carefully curated museum that takes the visitor through the history, culture, arts and artefacts of Dubai. The Al Fahidi Fort, or Dubai Fort, is situated at the south of the Dubai Creek, in the bustling Al Souk Al Kabir area. Built in 1787, the fort was initially the home of the monarch and a fort for defence. Later, it became an arsenal for artillery and weapons. The fort was renovated and opened in 1971 as a museum to showcase Dubai’s original heritage.

There’s no better way to know a place than by walking. Soak in the sights, sounds and flavours of old Dubai as you walk through the Al Fahidi neighbourhood which is steeped in history and culture.
